“I joined TrainFit Fit three years ago when I realized I needed a place to work out and get back in shape, and those “other big box” gyms were not the place for me anymore. As I often said, they had become a “very expensive shower!”
From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted with enthusiasm by Bill, I knew I was “home.” Bill got me started on the treadmill and then put me through the unique strength workout, which is only at TrainFit Fit. Suffice it to say; I was hooked!
Over the last three years, TrainFit has been a part of my weekly routines, and I find myself getting in a quick workout whenever I have a gap in my schedule. And while it sounds silly, those little plastic medallions one gets for doing 12 strength and 12 cardio workouts in a month have become the best motivator. After all, the last thing I want to do is miss a month and have to go back to the beginning. In fact, one month, I was leaving on vacation on the 13th and not returning until the following month began, so I was at TrainFit every day to make sure I made my goal.
Overall, TrainFit has become like “Cheers” for me because whenever you walk in, people look up and say hi. TrainFit has become a community of people whom I look forward to seeing and catching up with, and most importantly, who don’t laugh at me too much when I put in my earphones, turn on my music, and rock out while I work out!”
“I came to TrainFit by a friend’s invitation in July 2016. I liked the idea that I could do weight training that was already figured out for me. I had osteoporosis at the time, and my doctor recommended the weights, so I was motivated to get started. The staff, and other members, were very friendly, and I wanted to keep coming back. I also kept coming to get the medallions! I have missed those few months due to longer vacations, but I’ve always gotten back to it. The best news came last month when my endocrinologist told me I don’t have osteoporosis right now and can skip the medicine for at least 2 to 5 years. She said to keep up the strength training and walking...I will!”
“I have really enjoyed and benefitted from my TrainFit membership. I have been a steady runner for many years but lacked the strength training my body needed as I grew older. The TrainFit workouts are paced very well so that they push me to gain strength and flexibility, but not in a way that causes me to injure myself like other workout programs tend to do. Coach Bill has been a tremendous help with his enthusiasm, encouragement, and just the right amount of motivation to do better than I would on my own behalf. Leslie and Debbie are also great encouragers and always have a smile to keep me pushing through my workout. “I’ve been a member at TrainFit for almost three years and have found the routines and programs have continued to engage me, making it easy to include TrainFit as a part of my weekly schedule. “My husband and I have been active our entire lives – he’s a swimmer and avid cyclist and I’m a runner. We both have sedentary, somewhat stressful jobs - Craig is an attorney and practices School Law. I’m an Associate Superintendent, and we very much look forward to evenings, weekends, and being active. As many of you know, we must work to “fit-in” our activities while also balancing family and work.
Over the years, we’ve been a member of several gyms in the San Antonio area and had varying results. Not having any type of weight training background, we typically only used the weights and machines we were most familiar with – repeatedly. “Staying in shape or making improvements in my health is a great motivator for me. I’ve witnessed parents and older friends that have either stopped any kind of exercise or never began a routine, and their health and physical function has dramatically decreased as they have aged. I have also stopped and started routines before, and I know if I were to stop now, starting again would be difficult.
I have several favorite things about TrainFit; the business model and the way to exercise they have invented is definitely unique. You decide what you want to improve, select a workout program, and you can come in whenever time permits to accomplish your goals. Instructions are provided if needed, and there has never been any up-sell pressure to engage in additional activities. I also enjoy the camaraderie with the other members, as that always helps to complete that day’s program.”
